Hey LJ-friends, do any of you have any experience with or connection to the Guard Up fencing and fantasy swordfighting club in Burlington?  I've known about them for some time, but never had any direct interaction.  My recollection is that someone from my SCA or LARP circles is probably involved with them.

I was looking at them as a possible after-school activity for Michelle, but decided against it this year for a couple of reasons.  However, she's now been invited to a birthday party there so she's going to get some first-hand experience and learn if it's something she might be interested in doing more of.

Since I'm going, I figured that I should check if I already know anyone there.

They did a demo at a farmer's market in Bedford this summer, and I talked to them a bit.

They seemed nice, and answered all the hard questions really well: and gave Anna a free lesson that seemed well suited to her abilities and talents.

It is not possible for her to take classes there - if it were possible, I'd investigate further. It passed the sniff test.

One of my customers works there. That's not much help, but there it is.
