Yes, of course there's a catch.  The set works, but has problems.  It's still yours if you want it.

I have a 42-inch HDTV that's looking for a new home.  Those of you who have been to my house may recognize it as the big-screen TV we've had for the last 7 years.  It's a Sony 42" LCD rear projection unit - not a hang-on-a-wall model but only 14" deep.  I've got the manual, remote, cables, etc. and here's a link to the specs and the Amazon description.

The set developed some technical issues with the projector unit so Sony has effectively replaced it but left the old set in my possession
(long story).  The old set still works, but there's a problem which creates a blue-green pattern in the upper-right corner of the screen.  You can still watch things on it, but depending on the color and brightness what you're viewing, the screen glitch will always be there (photo below of the glitch at it's worst).

I have no need for this set anymore and am willing to let it go for free (or maybe for the cost of a dinner or something) to anyone who can put it to use.  Want to watch things on a big TV and aren't picky about video quality, it's yours.  Want to take on a technical repair project, I'll point you to details about the specific nature of the video problems.  Want to gut it and use the frame as an art project or a prop, cool with us.  Want to scavenge it for parts, go for it.  Basically, we just want it out of our house and don't feel right simply tossing it.
